All About Library Cards
|

Resident Cards
|
|
All residents of Brielle can
obtain a Brielle Public Library Card free of charge. Simply apply at the
Circulation Desk, and be sure to bring along some official identification,
such as a driver's license or bill, indicating your township
address.
|
Courtesy Cards
|
|
Courtesy cards are issued to
people who do not live in Brielle or in any of its reciprocal borrowing
communities, but who work for the borough or the Brielle school. These cards entitle the card
holder to the same privileges as a reciprocal patron.
|
Non-Resident Cards
|
|
For a fee of $50.00 per year
this card entitles non-residents to all the privileges that Brielle
residents have in the library.

Library Policies
|
|
Loan Periods
|
|
Books are checked out for 2
weeks. Magazines and books-on-tape may be checked out for 1 week. Videos
are due back the next day the library is open.
|
Media Limits
|
|
There is no limit to the
number of books you may check out. There is a limit of 2 videos per card
on loan at any time. A library card must be presented, or other proof of
identity. The card owner is responsible for all books borrowed on this
card.
|
Overdue Fines
|
|
Videos and CDs: $2.00 per day.
All other materials:$0.10 per day.
Overdue calls and notices are a courtesy reminder. The first call is made when the item is
14 days overdue, after which a billing notice is sent.

It would be impossible to
provide the level of services that our Library offers without its team of
volunteers, which helps in day to day activities and special events.

Renewals:
|
|
Items may be renewed once,
either by calling the library or by coming into the library, provided
there are no reserves on the item to be renewed.
Overdue items can not be renewed over the phone.
Videos may only be renewed in person.
Information needed for phone renewals include:
1. card holder's ID number
2. bar code of material
3. title of material
or
1. card holder's ID number
2.date due
3. author 4. title.
