PaganMoon Featured Artist
The staff at PaganMoon fell in love with Ms Galbreth's
work at first glance. We're honored to be able to display
"The Snow Queen" for you. We had a chance to interview
the artist herself and find out a little about her and
her work. We heartily recommend a visit to her website.
PM: how long have you been involved in the visual
arts?
JG: "I have been drawing since I was a very small child,
but professionally, I have been selling my artwork for
3 years."
PM: What is you biggest inspiration personally? How
about artistically?
JG: "My biggest inspiration with my artwork is the beauty
of nature. I can get so many ideas for new works just
by taking a walk in the woods near my home in Ohio.
This is when I feel the most spiritual."
PM: Do your personal religious/life beliefs make their
way into your artwork?
JG: "I have always been fascinated with all things mystical
- faeries, unicorns, goddesses. For me it is a way to
bring a little magic back in to the boring everyday
routine we all find ourselves in from time to time."

PM: Please tell us about this piece entitled "Snow
Queen"
JG: "With Snow Queen, I wanted to capture the beauty
of winter with a faery. I wanted to break away from
the traditional holiday reds and greens, so I chose
the cool icy blues and purples instead. She is one of
my favorites."
PM: What's your favorite piece of your own?
JG: "My all time favorite is 'The Wood Witch'. I really
like the earthy colors and the look in her eyes."
PM: Who is your favorite artist? Why?
JG: "My all time favorite artist would have to be Brian
Froud with his wonderful faery art. However, lately
I've become enthralled with the artwork of Susan Seddon
Boulet."
PM: Who is your least favorite artist and why?
JG: "How about a least favorite type of art? I do not
like contemporary abstract artwork. I guess it is a
personal thing - I like to view semi-realistic artwork
which transports you to another world and I really get
bored with the plain boxes and lines often found in
contemporary artwork."
PM: What do you think makes someone an artist?
JG: "I think what makes an artist is the desire to create
a mood, feeling or convey something to others. With
my own artwork, I try to convey the magic that we all
knew as children but have since forgotten as adults."
